Raustadt is an international
award-winning photographer with over
four decades of professional experience.
Q: How would
you describe what you do?
A: Many
people believe I'm a photographer.
Some, including other photographers,
regard me as a great photographer.
But, I see myself as a creative
photographic artist. Because, you
see, I've always been an artist who
happens to be a photographer.
Q: Why
don't you specialize in one or two
areas of photography?
A: I know
specializing would probably bring in
more income. But, it isn't all about
income. Limiting my creative
expression to one or two areas of
photography would be like cutting
off my left arm.
With a huge
blank canvas to look at each
morning, I'm excited to go to work.
If I was
shooting the same kinds of things
day after day, I'd quickly lose
interest. I'd feel imprisoned. To
me, specializing would be like
factory work!
I guess if
I had to wear a label, it would
"lifestyles photographer."
Q: What
awards are you most proud of ?
A: This
would have to be my very first
award. I received it for my color
landscape photography while in
France in 1970. It was an
international award; chosen from
thousands of entries from around the
world.
My most
recent award was from Arizona
Foothills Magazine. Readers voted me
"Best Of The Valley Real Estate and
Interiors Photographer of 2012."
Q: Why
"Bigger Picture Images?"
A: I
realized very few people could
remember something like "DannyPaulRaustadt.com,"
so I branded my photographs as "BiggerPictureImages.com."
And, I feel I provide a bigger
picture (as in talent, options,
experience, quality, clarity and
detail) than much of today's
competition.
